Tesla has updated support pages for a software recall affecting certain left-hand-drive Model 3 Premium vehicles, adding another compliance action that can be resolved by an over-the-air update rather than a service visit. The company says the remedy is included in software versions 2026.26.100.2, 2026.32.3, and later.

What Tesla says changed

Tesla’s Dutch, Finnish and Saudi support pages now describe a recall affecting certain Model 3 Premium vehicles with left-hand drive, saying the cars may not meet the applicable limit under UN Regulation No. 135 for pole side impact performance. The pages say the fix is bundled into software releases 2026.26.100.2, 2026.32.3 and newer.

Unlike a hardware repair campaign, Tesla says the remedy is delivered through software. That means owners whose cars already run one of the listed releases do not need further action, while other affected vehicles can be corrected through an update.

Why it matters

The recall matters because it points to a noncompliance issue in a vehicle type Tesla still sells in multiple markets, and because it is being handled through software rather than a shop visit. For owners, that usually reduces inconvenience; for regulators, it still counts as a formal safety campaign.

The support-page language also suggests the issue is tied to a specific regulatory test rather than a broad hardware defect. That makes the case narrower than Tesla’s recent software-based recalls involving rear-camera or driver-assistance behavior, but it is still significant because it touches a core crash-performance standard.

What remains unclear

Tesla’s support pages do not spell out how many vehicles are affected, which markets are included beyond the left-hand-drive designation, or when notification letters will be sent. Those details normally appear in recall filings or owner notices, which were not yet visible in the support material.

The company’s pages do give owners a simple check: use Tesla’s VIN Recall Search to see whether a specific vehicle is covered. That leaves the practical next step unchanged for drivers, even as the technical basis for the campaign becomes public.
